Whubble is now sponsored by WorkCompass!
I know, right? What does that actually mean for Whubble?
What it means is: WorkCompass are funding me to keep drawing new Whubbles, once a week, to post up right here for you to read every Wednesday. REGULAR WHUBBLE! The dream has come true!
What it also means: If you want to read the new Whubbles ONE WEEK EARLIER than they appear here, then WorkCompass have the exclusive on their blog. So head there and always be one Whubble ahead of everyone else. There’s a brand new Whubble up there now! It will show up here on whubble.net in about a week’s time!
Basically, you get regular Whubble, I get to draw regular Whubble, WorkCompass get to show regular Whubbles from the FUTURE! Everyone wins! Enjoy!
I know, I know, it’s been way too long since any new Whubbles have appeared. However, it’s my birthday on Monday 21st, so to celebrate I’m posting up five brand new Whubble strips, one each (work)day this week! Always fun to do a Whubble Wheek, hope you enjoy it!
There we go, Whubble is now done for a little while (again). Thank you for your support during this short 5-week run, it’s been really cool to see people enjoying Whubble again.
He will return! But as ever, other work and/or life is currently getting in the way, and i can’t spend the time i’d like to on drawing him, so need a little time off. Follow me on twitter HERE if you want to be kept up to date on when he might return, my other work, or even just my fragile state of mind.
See you soon!
Aww, i miss writing Whubble-related blogs. But hey, as Christmas is rolling up, I saw fit to suggest a few THINGS WHAT I DONE, WHAT YOU CAN BUY should you want to pick up some boggly-eyed face-slappy presents, including the nearly-deleted Whubble T-shirt! So please have a look at the little blog post at fumboo (is here [link]) for details on where you can get
– T-shirts featuring Whubble, Angry Little Robot, Looshkin and loads more!
– Bear plush toys and books!
– Kochi Wanaba prints!
– Find Chaffy and all the other books what I’ve done!
Thank you for looking :)
There we go, with today’s Whubble strip we’re at an end for this current run. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported Whubble and all those who have commented, emailed and promoted it, the affection for that little lumpy purple cat is quite overwhelming and i really do appreciate it.
As mentioned in the previous post, I have to stop drawing Whubble for a while because there is so much other work taking precedent at the moment. As for when Whubble will return, I have no idea. It may be a while, sorry.
The only way I could do more Whubble is if it were a paid gig, running in newspapers and the like. But as any strip cartoonist will tell you, getting a cartoon strip into the press can be like trying to climb up a bear, notoriously difficult and you always end up back on your ass (badoom TISH). There’s been some interest in Whubble from certain publishers over the years, but ultimately these come to nothing, or roll on indefinitely. So if you think the newspapers you read should print Whubble, please do point them this way! All support is obviously very welcome.
But for now, thank you again. I announce new stuff (including any possible Whubble return) on my site and twitter, so click the links to the right if you want to follow me there.
Until next time, file under A. For Awwww.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for all the Whubble love in this run, it’s been so appreciated. Sorry to say though, Whubble will be going on hiatus again. We got four more strips to go, so that’s a month more Whubble, but after that i’ll be taking a break from posting any more.
The reason is, quite simply, time. I love drawing Whubble and would happily do it constantly, but at the moment i have so many other projects happening and about to start, that I just don’t think I’m going to find much chance to get new Whubbles out. Some of you may know I’ve started doing children’s books (my Find Chaffy book is out NOW), and they’re pretty all-consuming timewise. Not to mention the 15 other projects floating around at any one time.
So apologies, but Whubbs needs some time out. BUT as i say we do still have a month left, and Whubble WILL of course return soon. If you want to hear when or keep up to date, best follow me on twitter or check out my website, that’s where i’ll be posting up any Whubble return dates.
A little while ago 11-year old Alex Nelson emailed to say he wanted to teach some of the younger kids at his school how to draw Whubble, and could i draw a How-To for him to use as a guide. Normally I’ll grumble and pretend the internet must be broken, but he asked nicely so the idea really grabbed me ^_^
Here is the How To Draw Whubble. (click for bigger version)
And here are some of the results!
Top left – half finished blue Whubble
Top Right – Alex’s Whubble
Next down – Whubble strip drawn by Alex
Last pic – Alex’s strip coped by student.
Great work, thanks for showing us Alex!
Here’s something pretty damn awesome, the uber-talented jayextee did a flash animation for the ‘A3 Crotch’ Whubble from a little while ago. Click the pic here to see the animation, thanks so much Jay!
I’d been a bit worried of late, the Whubble that went up last week was the last of the batch I’d produced so I was long overdue to start some more. I tend to draw them in batches rather than weekly, so I won’t (hopefully) have to miss a week along the way. Well anyway I’ve only just finished this new batch, the day before the next one goes up, but the good news is there’s a good 16 new strips done which is what, about four months worth?
Hope you enjoy! And thank you all for your comments and spreading the Whubble word, it’s VERY appreciated.
Whoo! 18 brand new Whubble strips uploaded, including the Whubble Wheek’s 7-day specials! That means we’re safe for Whubbles till about June, and hopefully I’ll get a chance to do some more by then anyway.
Here’s a little promo I slapped together, a Whubble Soundboard if you will, to celebrate the lumpy purple miser’s return..
See you on Monday for Whubble Wheek! ^_^
Well then HERE WE GO. Whubbe Wheek begins a week on monday, and I’ll be updating a brand new Whubble strip every day for 7 days. After that, who knows? I’d like to start maintaining a weekly update where possible, but I’ll have to see how kind time is.
While you wait for Whubble Wheek, and i frantically practice drawing him again (seriously, the simplest characters are often the trickiest to get right), have a poke around the brand new Whubble website! Here you’ll find Whubble fanart, banners, new Whallpapers, and with every* strip updated into the archive, a catalogue of Whubble’s misadventures so far. And don’t forget to come join the Whubble FACEBOOK GROUP (link on the right).
See you in just over a wheek!
* i say every, but i’m sure a few are missing and i can’t remember which ones. if you’ve got any clue, let me know!
Whelcome to Whubble. Whether you’re a whegular wheader (okay lets stop that now) to the Whubble comics or you’ve only just discovered the archive (there’s loads of strips to read!), i’d just like to say WELCOME!
The old Whubble website was falling to bits, lets be honest. The comments system broke apart and it was hard to link to any of the strips because their ranking kept changing. Despite that, whubble.net scored well over HALF A MILLION hits in the time it was online, and poor Whubble himself won a loyal and quite lovely following. Since his stories went on hiatus, I’ve been trying to find the time to draw some more, and finally I think I’m gonna get some done. So it’s with great pleasure I can say new Whubble strips will be starting very soon!
In the meantime, say hi! If you find anything wrong with this site, or just want to say howdy, please do! And thank you everyone for your Whubble support this far, it’s the reason I’m drawing new ones.
